The formation of a Jesuit is a journey that can last more than fifteen years and encompasses five key stages:
1. The Novitiate: ~ 2 years, learn about community, ministry, the Society of Jesus and Ignatian spirituality, and make a 30-day retreat. After those first two years, these men pronounce vows of poverty, chastity and obedience.
2. First Studies: ~ 3 years, studying philosophy and theology, while serving in community.
3. Regency: ~ 3 years, active ministry, like an internship.
4. Theology Studies: ~ 3 years, a final step towards priestly ordination. After receiving the Sacrament of Holy Orders, a Jesuit is sent on his first assignment as a priest.

5. Tertianship: Jesuit formation doesn’t stop after ordination. A Jesuit usually begin Tertianship three to five years after ordination. It is intended to be a time of renewal. A Jesuit revisits the foundational documents and history of the Society of Jesus. As he did as a novice, a Jesuit in tertianship once again makes the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius Loyola. Known as the Long Retreat, the tertian prays in silence for 30 days. Tertianship is typically a nine-month program that includes spiritual training and apostolic ministry. After the tertianship, the Jesuit is called to pronounce a fourth and final vows to serve the Pope, the Church and the Society of Jesus.
Father Stefanus Hendrianto, SJ., is an Indonesian-born Jesuit priest and a member of the USA West Province of the Society of Jesus (Jesuit West). After his ordination in June 2019, Father Hendri was assigned by the Jesuit West to serve WKICU. Having served WKICU for over a year, Father Hendri received a new teaching assignment at the Gregorian University in Rome. After more than two years working in Rome, Father Hendri will start his Tertianship in Portland, Oregon, in October 2023, and the program will finish at the end of May 2024. Father Hendri is currently staying at Santa Clara University.

Pembentukan seorang Jesuit adalah sebuah perjalanan yang dapat berlangsung lebih dari lima belas tahun dan mencakup lima tahap kunci:

5. Program Tersiat: pembinaan Jesuit tidak berhenti setelah penahbisan. Seorang Jesuit biasanya memulai program Tersiat tiga sampai lima tahun setelah pentahbisan. Program ini dimaksudkan sebagai masa pembaharuan.
Seorang Jesuit meninjau kembali pedoman dasar dan sejarah Serikat Yesus. Seperti yang dilakukannya sebagai novis, dalam masa Tersiat, seorang Jesuit juga menjalani Latihan Rohani St. Ignatius Loyola yang dikenal sebagai Retret Panjang, berdoa dalam keheningan selama 30 hari. Tersiat biasanya merupakan program sembilan bulan yang mencakup latihan rohani dan pelayanan kerasulan.
Setelah program Tersiat, Jesuit dipanggil untuk mengucapkan kaul keempat dan terakhir untuk melayani Paus, Gereja dan Serikat Yesus.
Romo Stefanus Hendrianto, SJ adalah Romo Yesuit kelahiran Indonesia dan merupakan anggota Provinsi Serikat Yesus Amerika Serikat bagian barat (Jesuit West). Setelah ditahbiskan sebagai Imam pada bulan Juni 2019, Romo Hendri ditugaskan oleh Jesuit West untuk melayani WKICU. Setelah melayani WKICU lebih dari satu tahun, Romo Hendri mendapat penugasan baru untuk mengajar di Universitas Gregoriana di Roma. Setelah bertugas selama lebih dari dua tahun di Roma, beliau akan memulai program Tersiat nya di Portland, Oregon bulan Oktober 2023, dan program itu akan berakhir pada akhir bulan Mei 2024. Romo Hendri saat ini tinggal di kampus Universitas Santa Clara.
